Charlie is a black and tan male German Shepherd (solid black recessive) that leans more toward Horand in his stature, build, and temperament: Max Emil Friedrich von Stephanitz said of Horand: “Although untrained in his puppyhood, nevertheless obedient to the slightest nod when at his master’s side; but when left to himself, the maddest rascal, the wildest ruffian and an incorrigible provoker of strife,” describes Charlie to a tee!

Charlie’s personality is: direct and fearless. He has self-confidence and a certain pride that lends itself to being stubborn.  He is approachable, quietly standing his ground. He can be calm and controlled, but always eager and alert.  He can be prone to mischief and loves to play.  He is athletic, fit and willing to serve. He is loyal and fun-loving.  His progeny will be well suited for companionship, family guardians, retrieval work, and Shutzhund. 

Charlie leans to the heritage German Shepherd conformation.  He is at the top of the standard for height at 30″ and weight at 90lbs.   His back is straight and he naturally stands square.  His drives are high. 

Favorite outside toy: Balls (fetch). Favorite inside toy: Any Nylabone on his woobie. Favorite obstacle: Tunnel
